Pyramids FC to release Ghana’s John Antwi

It has been reported that Pyramids FC are prepared to end their affiliation with Ghana international John Antwi at the end of the season.

Antwi has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in Egyptian football in recent years after spells with Ismaily, Al Ahly, Misr El-Makkasa, and Pyramids.

With 77 goals in the Egyptian Premier League, Antwi sits top on the list of all-time foreign top goalscorers; however, he struggled this season with Pyramids as he failed to score a single goal in 16 league games.

After becoming fed up with his situation at Pyramids, it was reported that Antwi was nearing a club exit, with Ittihad of Alexandria being his next destination.

Now, according to local reports, Pyramids will release Antwi as they are currently completing the signing of Ismaily striker Fakhreddine Ben Youssef.

The reports also suggests that the club doesn’t want to part ways with Burkina Faso’s Bertrand Traore.
