Al Masry president Samir Halabeya stated that Karim El Eraki is steps away from joining Zamalek as the negotiations are going well.
During the current Egyptian Premier League season, El Eraki has consistently been one of the starting eleven at Al Masry, making 26 appearances with the club and assisting two goals.
El Eraki was also present on the international level, he was part of the Egypt U23 squad that won the U-23 AFCON.
In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he participated in all Egypt matches from the group stage to the quarter-finals.
Halabeya addressed El Eraki’s rumored transfer to Zamalek while also touching on multiple topics including Omar Kamal’s situation with the team.
In his statement to ONTime Sports, Samir said: “Omar Kamal is no longer a part of our future plans, he evaded contract extension multiple times.
“We agreed on contract extension terms with Ali Maher, we will announce the extension soon.
“Zamalek asked us for Karim El Eraki, we are now waiting for the player’s decision. We will meet with Zamalek officials to discuss it further.
“That’s why we didn’t include Karim’s name in our African squad.”
