Foreign Affairs examines the reopening of the Egyptian Embassies in Tripoli and Benghazi

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Mangoush, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Libya, Tamer Mustafa, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli.

The Minister greeted the Ambassador and wished him well on Libyan territory, emphasizing that he would get full cooperation from the Libyan side to guarantee the fulfilment of his duties.

The Ambassador disclosed that the Egyptian Embassy and Consulate headquarters in Tripoli were close to being outfitted and re-opened to offer services from the capital, Tripoli, and also mentioned the preparations for the consulate facility in Benghazi.

The meeting also discussed the two countries’ common prospects for cooperation and how to expand them to cover all areas, including health, judicial, and economic cooperation, as well as the regulation of Egyptian workers’ presence in Libya and the regulation of their situation through the electronic networking of labour-related systems.

The Minister thanked Egypt for its support of the Libyan people in dealing with the Corona epidemic, pointing to the quantities of oxygen it had lately supplied to Libya.
