Egyptian youngster makes debut for Bundesliga side Vfl Bochum


Egypt-eligible youngster Mohamed Tolba has made his unofficial debut for Bundesliga outift Vfl Bochum in a friendly encounter.

Tolba came from the youth ranks of Vfl Bochum where he played for their U17 side, before being promoted to the U19s.

While he hasn’t made his official debut yet, the Egyptian-German appeared in their friendly encounter against Dutch side VBV De Graafschap on Monday.

The 17-year-old didn’t start the game but was brought on as a substitute in the 80th minute for Uganda’s Herbert Bockhorn, when they were 1-0 down.

They went on to equalize in the 93rd minute through an own goal, before they managed to snatch the win three minutes later from the penalty spot through Congo’s Silvère Ganvoula.

After a good performance, we will have to wait and see if Tolba will make his Bundesliga debut anytime soon.

Vfl Bochum were promoted to the Bundesliga after having won the 2.Bundesliga table with 67 points to their name, three ahead of their closest rivals SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

In their first game back to the Bundesliga, Bochum suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Omar Marmoush Vfl Wolfsburg.
